Thursday 11.30.17: Homework

Block B:
Read the first part of "Sweetheart of the Song Tra-Bong" (to the page break at the bottom of page 92) and complete the first Venn diagram in the packet I gave you in class. Use lots of good detail and description from the novel as you fill out the diagram.

Block C:
Continue to prepare for your presentation. Write a clear one-pager and select a rich passage to present. Be sure to take note of the moves that King makes as a writer in the passage you select--focus on LANGUAGE!

Block E:
Update your Big Fish notes for the segment we watched today in class. We'll resume the film on Monday and you will eventually do some writing about the film.

Block F:

Block  C:
Prepare for your presentations starting when we return. Write your one pager and print it out before you arrive on the day of your presentation. A lot of you were out of class today due to the Accuplacer test. Plan to take the vocabulary quiz tomorrow in class if you missed it today. I'll spend part of the block explaining how to write your one pager and how to prepare for your presentation.

If you want to listen to the podcast where some people use motifs to close read sections of Harry Potter, go to this site. Fast-forward to the 7:00 minute mark and take a listen. You'll follow a similar format for your own close reading.

Block E:
Finish your Motif essay by 8pm tonight and upload it to the Google classroom.

Construct a “reading record” for both of the stories we heard today: "Enemies" and "Friends."
